Welcome to the 'Kapa Haka for Ashgrove School' page

Our Kapa Haka - "Kapa" meaning team or group and "Haka" meaning to perform or dance - is open to all Year 3 - 8 students.  Practises are held weekly on a Wednesday from 1.00 - 2.00pm.
Our sessions incorporate Korero Maori, Tikanga (protoccol), Waiata mahinga (performance) and a sense of Whanaungatanga (togetherness).
On this page you will find the list of current waiata and instructional videos to assist with your learning.  Feel free to look around and practise some of waiata-a-ringa (action songs).

Seize it firmly
Do we all agree?  Yes we all agree

To rise from the pain
To rise from the sadness
Rise again
